Rocking On and On and On....

According to me, there are three kinds of moments that every human being remembers in his life-the bad and the embarrassing ones, two, the circumstances which transformed him and finally, the ones which elated, enchanted, electrified and WOWed him and I am writing this particular post so that those whoever attended the concert night of SURAJ JAGAN on 3rd March 2011 at Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad is reminded of the ecstatic two hours that he performed for, so that they remember how they yelled and cheered for the rockstar in front of their eyes and so that they can picturize the 5 wonderful Musicians, who were kings of the stage that night! I've been a part of PULSE for the last two years and I can affirm that Suraj Jagan created History in GRIET. I bet every other year on PULSE, every person who attended his concert night on PULSE '11, will be reminded of Suraj Jagan.

It all started off with the countdown that we all gave for him and there! He made
his presence on the stage and said the two beautiful words in his cute accent "Yellagaa unnaru" to which all of us shrieked! Man, did he know how to impress the Hyderabadi crowd. A little of 'Hyderabadi Hindi' would have made it better though;anyway, whoever would concentrate on what he talks when he sings 'All izz well'. The tag line from 3 Idiots has been my favorite ever since I watched the movie and that song itself was enough to get us energized. His next song was 'Aali re', from the movie

'No one Killed Jessica' and I bet, majority of the PULSE crowd may not have heard that song sin
ce their inclination, as far as I know, is mostly towards Telugu songs, But it did not seem to matter. The only thing that ma
ttered was that Suraj was on the stage and was singing with full energy; that alone was enough
for all of us to huzzah. When he came to 'Socha hain', a new spirit arouse in all of us and we all started to sing along with him and when it was the turn of 'Pichhley Saat Dinon mein', I don't know about the others, I totally went berserk! He got all of us to sing along with it;when it came to the terrific guitar solo part and guitarist Lokesh Bakshi came right in the middle of the stage, everyone were totally drooling over how he moved his fingers over the frets and the strings and produced cry
stal clear music. Then, came the song 'Dog gone crazy' which was also one of

the highlights of the concert.

Adding to every positive thing about his performance, his voice and his band complemented him thoroughly. No wonder even slow songs like 'Jab Mila Tu' sounded rock! Thereafter, he sang 'Aitbaar', 'Gazab' , 'Sadka Kiya' 'Dilli Dilli'. He als
o sang a medley of old bollywood songs, which I personally enjoyed a lot. Although I appreciate the original versions, they sounded much better when he sang it at that time, probably because I had already become his fan by then and whatever he sang looked phenomenal, no matter what. When he sang 'Dum Lagaa', it really was sooo mesmerising because the song totally related to us, youngsters and although I already liked the son, after watching him sing it, it seemed nicer. The songs which I enjoyed the most were 'Pichhle Saat Dinon mein', 'Sindbad the Sailor', 'Emotional Atyachaar' and 'Zehreelay'.

There were few highlights of the show, which I am willing to describe in a million sentences, but I wouldn't be doing justice to the reader of this particular post, if I did so. That's why, I'll just brief up on it. Th
ere were so many times during the entire show, when we were yelling for him to sing 'Zehreelay' and when he did, it was prominently spectacular. There was this particular moment, when he was introducing his bandmates to the crowd. When he came to the keyboard guy Sameer Nichani, we all yelled "Cute boy, Cute boy" and when it was to Lokesh Bakshi, we all yelled "Superb, Superb". And finally, the best moment of the day, this ofcourse, appeals only to me. When Suraj Jagan was singing the song 'Kya karun', he came up to me at the side of the stage and pointed to me singing the lyric 'Tumhara hi khayal' and held my hand, I was literally THRILLED for those 6 seconds. This is ONE DAMN MOMENT, that I will never ever forget for the rest of my life!

My English teacher once said 'It is the energy of the performer that is passed on to the audience and no matter what you are actually talking on the stage, if you are energetic and spirited, then the audience are totally yours'. Undoubtedly, Suraj Jagan is a miraculous singer, but I can say for sure that it was his energy that was passed on to all of us, such that we wanted to try and catch one lyric of even those songs we didn't know and sing along with him and Cheer for him. His attitude on the stage, the way he danced, the way he moved to every corner
of the stage, it seemed like he was talking to each and everyone of us and didn't leave any of us out. Finally, when he concluded the show with 'Give me some sunshine', it seemed like suddenly we were shifted from loudness to calmness. As much as we were delighted for having been a part of such a magnificient concert, we were very very upset that the show was actually over.

Suraj Jagan's performance has made PULSE 2011 very very memorable for each and every one of us who attended it and we will always remember him. All the adjectives in this world are less to describe Suraj Jagan's performance, but since I am the one who's writing this, I will describe it using my favorite word, which I use for anything that I love very much-AWESOME!
Rock on!!
